Speed Ticket - Spielfeld - 60 km/h speed limit zone

Beitrag von Marko Kovic » 17.10.2010, 23:39

Dear Forum colleagues, 1st I would like to apologise for writing in English... I do speak and understand German however my German writing is still a bit of a challenge for me....

I have one question: it is about me speeding on the motorway A9 ie. at the boarder crossing Spielfeld direction Graz. Speed limit there is set to 60 km/h and I was apparently driving 113 km/h which is more than 50 km/h... In addition to 250 EUR fine I am also expecting I will have to give-away my driving licence for 2 weeks. No good at all... I have been driving this direction every week at least once and am well aware of the speed limits at the boarder crossing... not sure what happened this time but it was definitely my mistake I have to pay for. :(

Strafverfügung document I received says- radar-box was positioned at certain Strassenkilometer number... and when I checked on the road today... this was only 100m before the traffic sign which announces end off 60km/h speed limit zone.

The question I have is the following: Was this radar box positioned correctly according to StVO? I have read somewhere on the Web (unfortunately I can not find document any more...huh) that radar boxes can not be positioned at the places close to or towards the end of speed limit zones. Is my assumption correct? If yes, do you know what is the distance radar box needs to be away from "end of speed limit"zone traffic sign to be conform with StVO?

Thank you for your advices!
regards Marko

If the photo shows doubtless, that your offence was within the marked speed limit- area, then according to my knowledge, the radar box was not to close to the end of the speed limit.

best regards
